HOW TO FIX A ROOT BOUND PLANT

If you notice that your plant has stopped growing or is struggling to thrive, it might be root bound.

This happens when the roots have grown too big for the pot, and start to wrap around.

Here are the steps you need to fix a root bound plant

Remove the plant from it's container. Gently squeeze the container and wiggle the plant out by the main stem.

Soak and massage the roots with water to detangle. Use a blade to cut into the root ball if it won't loosen up.

Trim the roots with clean scissors. This will stimulate new growth when you repot!

Repot your plant in a container that is 2 inches larger in diameter than the previous pot.

Water your houseplant but don't fertilize! The new soil should feed your plant.
